Forrest Nelson

A Rockford-area native, Forrest joined WIFR in October 2023 as a digital content producer.

Forrest attended Rock Valley College before graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts with a minor in Film Studies.

Forrest says he never intended to get involved in journalism, but likes coming up with creative ways to keep the community informed. As part of the news team, Forrest enjoys getting out into the community and works to change people's mindsets about their hometowns, showing off all the cool things the Rockford area has to offer.

When Forrest isn't at work, he makes music and supports the local music scene. He also enjoys watching movies and YouTube, playing video games with friends and spending time with his family.
